Privacy Policy

If you are reading this, you are really interested in privacy. So are we! That is why Your Face in the Game (”we”) took the time to write this Privacy Policy. This document will help you understand what information we collect, how we use it, and what you can do to protect your privacy. This document applies to information we collect on www.yourfaceinthegame.com, and does not include information we gather off the website (on the phone or through emails). We tried to keep this document simple, concise and clear so there is no confusion. If you think we have left anything out or have any questions, please contact us at privacy@yourfaceinthegame.com.

This privacy policy applies to the Your Face in the Game website located at www.yourfaceinthegame.com. It describes only our online information collection and use practices at www.yourfaceinthegame.com; it doesn’t apply to information we collect about you offline (such as over the phone) or in different situations (such as through email correspondence).

This privacy policy is effective as of April 3, 2009. If we need to make changes in future, we will post the changes here and notify you if we think the changes will significantly impact the treatment of the information you have already provided.

The Information we gather:

Your Face in the Game collects personal identifiable information (email address, name, how many games you have created and sent, etc) when you choose to use our service. At the beginning of a game, when you agree to Your Face in the Games terms of service, you allow us to track this information.

We also track non identifiable information (such as, IP addresses, browser types, usage of the site, etc.) We also use “cookies” on the site to provide you with more features. If you want, you can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may be unusable if you do.

Sending a game to a friend:

When you send a game to a friend you are required to submit your name, your email address, your friend’s name, and your friend’s email address. Your Face in the Game will store this information.

Playing our games:

By playing or creating a game, you are enrolled into the Your Face in the Game “network”. Being in the network allows us to store the picture featured in the game and use it around the website and inside games created by Your Face in the Game (such as in high score boards, sharing achievements,  etc).

Embedding and sharing games:

Our games are meant to be shared. When you create a game and provide your name and picture, you are acknowledging your game may be viewed by the public.

Games can be hosted on websites outside of Your Face in the Game. The embedded games will feature the face used to create the game along with the name in advertisements before, during, and after the game. When you make a game, you are willingly accepting these parts of the service.

How we use the information:

We use the personal information collected to send news about Your Face in the Game to you. We may also ask you for input and feedback on the site from time and time. Some personal information we collect, (such as usernames, high scores, etc.) may be displayed around the website.

We will use non-identifiable information to track aggregate statistics about our website, advertisements, etc.

Your Face in the Game will never share, rent, lease, or sell your personal information (like your email address, your name, etc.) to any third party for their independent use of benefit. We know you value your privacy and we do too.

When we might share information:

We may share your information with companies or individuals acting on Your Face in the Game’s behalf.

In the event we ever sell the company and there is a change in corporate ownership we will give the new owners our files, which include your information. We may also share information with government officials in order to cooperate with legitimate investigation.

As we said before, we will not disclose your information without a good reason.

Third party advertising:

Your Face in the Game will use the face and name featured in the game in advertisements before, during, and after the game. The face will only be used for the specific instance of the game made.
